Overview
Pipe-Control® is modern and effective pipeline leak
detection system (LDS) for oil/gas/energy enterprises and
organizations. Pipe-Control ® LDS is based on the principle
of detection and identification of pressure waves that occur in
pipelines during leaks.

Pipe-Control ® LDS provides:

Fully automatic control of integrity of gas, liquid, and batch product pipelines that are
located above and under ground, as well as sub sea pipelines;

Detection of unauthorized taps into the pipelines and theft of oil, refined oil products,
natural gas and etc;

Detection of leaks that occur due to physical wear, corrosion, technological
disasters, landslides and seismic activity;

Quick and simple installation and easy management of system’s operations;

Support and integration with third party SCADA systems;

Protection from vandalism and sabotage of system’s component and operations.

Reliable operation in a various climates with temperatures from -40ºС to +70ºС.

Customer: Rosneft (Russia)
Project: Protection of crude oil upstream network of pipelines. Total length: 300km
Rosneft – an integrated oil company majority owned by the Government of Russia. It is the leading extraction and
refinement company in Russia. In 2008 Pipe-Control LDS was installed on the crude oil upstream network of
pipelines in the southern fields of Samara region (the total length of protected pipelines is around 300 km). Rosneft
has plans to expand the use of Pipe-Control LDS for their other upstream pipelines.


Installation: Lukoil

Customer: Lukoil (Russia)
Project: Protection of refined oil products transport pipeline. Total length: 100km
Lukoil – Russia’s largest public oil company In 2008 Pipe-Control LDS was installed on refined oil products
transport pipeline “Perm – Andreevka” (river crossings along the 280 km section). Lukoil has indicated their desire to
expand the use of Pipe-Control LDS technology to their other pipelines.

Customer: Transneft/Transnefteproduct (Russia)
Project: Protection of refined oil products transport pipeline. Total length: 150 km
Transneft – Russian state-owned company responsible for the national oil pipelines and which has the monopoly on
transports of the oil and oil products produced in Russia. In 2009 Pipe-Control LDS was installed on the refined oil
products transport pipeline “Nijnekamsk-Almetievsk-Nijni Novgorod” (along two sections of 120 km and 33 km in
length). These projects are the first in a series of planned installations of Pipe-Control LDS for this company.

Customer: Pipe-Tech Inc (Saudi Arabia)
Project: Protection of closed loop pipeline testing facility for Saudi Aramco . Total length: ~1,5 km
Pipe-Tech Inc – solution provider, system integrator, and a researcher in the field of pipeline LDS. In the middle of 2010, Pipe-Control LDS was installed at closed loop pipeline testing facility in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. At the end of 2010 the systemhave successfully passed Site Acceptance Tests for Aramco (Saudi Arabia’s the state-owned national oil company) and wasincluded in the registry of systems recommended for installations in Aramco. There are currently plans to install Pipe-Control
LDS on tens of Aramco’s pipeline (totaling hundreds of km and transporting prepared oil and refined products).

Customer: Pemex Refinancion (Mexico)
Project: Protection of refined oil products transport pipeline. Total length: 600 km
Pemex – Mexican state-owned petroleum company. In 2009, Group LBI won the bid to supply LDS for Pemex and
currently we have 4 projects (prepared oil and refined products pipelines totaling around 600 km) in the design and
final approval stage. The start of implementation of these projects is scheduled for 2011.

Pipeline Protection (underground construction):

Seismic sensors covered 30-50 cm underground.
Sensors can anchored or cement casted in the ground.
50-100 m between sensors.
Unique wireless communication, can deployed up to 10 KM.
Independent energy sources for each sensors available more than 10 years working time.
Detection technologies:
Human or Vehicle detection.

Pipeline Protection (stations & pipeline ):

2-4 sensors for stations secure, communicates control center via oil
pipeline communication infrastructure.
50-100 m between each sensors along the pipeline, communicates one
each other up to 10 KM

Pipeline Protection (leaking detection):
Many reasons can cause oil leaking such as:
Vandalisms activities.
Corrosion, erosion.
mechanical damages.
Seismic sensors can be use to either detecting human activities, vehicles movements, oil leaking.
Sensors can embedded to the pipelines either anchored nearby.

Data Gathering process
